    Ip not getting fire

Maybe those rubber insulators where the FSS bolts to the pump are bad and it's shorting out there? Causing your truck to cut out and lunge and burn your wires? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    DIY: Digital Pyrometer Gauge

I absolutely love the idea of this but I also know absolutely nothing about this caliber of electronics. I'll ask my oldest brother, he usually puts electronic stuff into engine terms for me so I can understand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    summer/pre rally upgrades....

Yes cast steel welded is normally fine. Cast iron is all kind of tricky, but doable. Cast steel which will be carrying large amounts of weigh at highway speeds and feeling every bump in the road doesn't sound like a great way to go about getting his end goal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    summer/pre rally upgrades....

What about dropping the pivot brackets from the cross member or making new ones that drop 2" with spacers on the coils instead? If you make them out of say, 3/8 steel and add a brace somewhere like the lift kit drop brackets I sure do think that'd be safer for you. Not trying to be a negative...

    summer/pre rally upgrades....

Wow. All I can say is your balls are huge. Never would I ever think of cutting and re welding the I beams. And I'm a good welder fabricator. Not that I'm trying to be a prick or to scare you but when I was young I was told something that always stuck with me through my mechanical career...

    Best Batteries?

Not sure what your MOS is Jasper but have ya looked under the battery cover of any LMTV or LTAS? They are all dry glass mat batteries. Most of the new m1165,1152 and 1167's I've seen are all dry batteries. I remember in AIT the instructor said dry batteries can take a couple rounds of 7.62 and...

    Trip to the Junk Yard

I know a 91 I parted out had that port. I think I may I think I might have another parking brake assembly from an 89.... Hmmm I'm going to have to look and see if I can find it and if it has the speedo port.

    Best Batteries?

I too like the optimas, I have one in my TDI but I sure don't like the price. I've recently started using the NAPA commercial group 31's in the tractors, the tandem dump truck, and I'm about to buy another set for my project truck. Just the weight of them tells me they are a good battery...

    Trip to the Junk Yard

F450 rear axles do not have a parking brake. So ford used a 4x4 trans and added a parking brake drum to the drive line. Look on it somewhere for a hole about 1" where you could put a speedo cable in. If doesn't have one you would have to add a transfer case to your 2wd truck for your speedo...

    Brake Master Cylinder

I'm pretty sure when I replaced my vacuum BOOSTER from a newer truck onto my 86 I had to wallow the holes out on the MASTER CYLINDER to fit, but it worked fine. So if you put a newer MC on your older BOOSTER you'd probably have to oval the holes and you might need a couple inverted flare...

    Trip to the Junk Yard

It doesn't matter if his truck is 2 or 4 wheel with a superduty trans. If it's 2 wheel leave the parking brake bolted to the back. If it's 4 wheel take it off. If it's 4 wheel then there is no speedo concern, your cable will remain in the transfer case no matter what transmission. If it's 2...

    NOS 80-86 speedo

Bought 2 of these a few years ago when I had plans on restoring my old truck. Guy before me bought a bunch of stuff from a dealership auction. Got one left. Box is in rough shape. Way I figured it, if it was worth 24.50 in 1985 like the box says, I too can settle for $24.50 and I won't...

    Racor fuel filters

That's a good deal. That's the exact type the Military FMTV and LTAS uses with c7 cats. It's their primary filter and it's only about 3" tall. I think strikers too, but I don't work on them to know for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

On way home, injector line broke in half!

I also carry a FSS with me. Ever been lucky enough to have one on its last leg give out on you 10 miles from home? I just happened to be lucky enough that day that I didn't clean my truck out from my last trip and had a spare IP. 5 or so minutes later I was hammering down the road again.

    Buy it or leave it?

You must not be offering them to the right people!! I will agree though, I find a rear doff one of the hardest truck parts to sell.

    6.9 Upgrade Advice

Most new aftermarket pumps aren't as good or flow as much as the OEM so there is a money saver. Check and clean your old one. It's probably fine. If your oil pan only has a small dent and isn't very rusty just massage the dent out and go. If it is bad I have 4-5 spares I'll probably never use...
