I'm back in the IDI game!

Documentation is always a good thing. It could actually be used as some leverage in a resolution if they know you will share your experience on the forum.

84 300td in a jeep looking for more power

I saw it on his Facebook page about a week ago. I think you can get the 7.5mm pump through him also, but I'm not positive. He has a lot of conversion stuff for Toyotas and Jeeps.

You could start with the pump and see what boost and exhaust temperature is and go from there. The guy a doomsday diesel just came out with a turbo kit. I think pretty much a bolt in.

A compression test before engine removal would be a good thing to do.

    86 F350 6.9L overhaul

Agreed. I would only power wash the engine if it was completely disassembled and you would still need to be pretty diligent about getting all the water out.

    AC question?

That has been my experience, for what it's worth.

    AC question?

This is getting really complicated. It's really really easy. The original compressor is leaking (not seized no metal in the system) Flush the system, Replace accumulator, Replace orifice tube, Add PAG oil 46, Evacuate (vacuum) and charge A/C. I have been doing this professionally for over 40...

Nice bricknose CCLB for sale on Seattle CL

It's a 30 a year old rig. Anything purchased that old should be purchased with the thought of spending at least 2k to get it in shape. If a person is not up to that they should leave it alone.

    AC question?

If it works for you, go for it. I've never had a problem using the recommended refrigerant oils. ATF in the other applications mentioned sounds good.

    AC question?

I hope you didn't mean to say ATF?

    1989 F-250 7.3 Project

    Looking Good
  19. YJMike92

    AC question?

The only reason for replacing the whole system would be if the compressor blew up or locked up which would mean there was shrapnel in the system. If all you did was pop a seal then system replacement is not needed. I would put an accumulator and orifice tube on it just because. Be sure to vacuum...

84 300td in a jeep looking for more power

A build thread would be cool. It could inspire me to do a OM617/YJ swap myself. I just so happen to have all the right components.

Congratulation on the new rig. I don't have an answer, but I'm sure someone will chime in.
