You have a little fab work to do to the 2wd frame. You can just put a tube through the frame for poly bushings ( check out Ruff Stuff Fab) and eliminate a lot of fab and the worthless A shaped shackles. Was all set to do that before deciding to go with RSK and 99 up springs.

I just noticed you said 1990 axle. Does your front and rear lug bolt pattern match now? If not the 99 up axle is a better choice.

The spring perch width is not easily changed since one is cast as part of the center section. The easiest way to put 99-04 front axle under 80-97 is with a SKY off-road or PMF shackle reverse kit and a new pair of 2000-2004 front springs. The offset to accommodate the different width is built...

    3.73

All the Ford D60 fronts Ive seen are reverse cut. Check out Randy’s Ring and Pinion for the gears. 373 is probably the most common in F250 and F350 are. C&C trucks are narrow in the rear but the front frame and suspension is unchanged. So that is the same width 99-04.

    '97 International 4700 T444E won't start

Use trouble shooting info for the 94-97 OBS Powerstroke. The pcm and wiring is different but the basics the same. I don’t recall an electric fuel pump on the early T444e but have been wrong before. One thing not mentioned yet is the HPOP reservoir. If there was an extended crank/no start...

    Fat guys, regular cabs

That is the trick to the 92-97 bucket seats from a crew or regular cab (same for both but not super cab). The back is way thinner. I could shoot you some measurements if you are a show me type guy.....not much for posting pictures

    Fat guys, regular cabs

The OBS 40-20-40 bucket seat set made my 91 regular cab much more room. I’m 6’2 and keep the seat one notch foreword.....

Still need a diagram or did you go 3g?

Were havin' FUN now. . .

Even though lift pump is new verify pressure and flow. On putting the lines on the pump I have never had an issue. Don’t remove the clamps that keep them in groups of 4. Snug down the lines gently to the pump while helping them find their happy spot. Works for me many times.

Were havin' FUN now. . .

One more thing to check.....if your last dynamic timing setting was done with your old injectors and you installed fresh injectors it is very likely your timing moved a significant amount.

Were havin' FUN now. . .

One other thing to check out before condemning the pump is the fuel supply to the pump. I have had rough idle and poor performance result from a failing lift pump. Even if it turns out to be the injection pump you wouldn’t want to install a fresh injection pump without verifying fuel volume and...

    Best aftermarket differential covers?

I developed the “spot” for the drain plug on the bottom on a diff that was apart but since done several while in the truck.

    Best aftermarket differential covers?

The reason I drill and tap the housing is to get it in the very lowest spot so all the crap comes out. Course if you use a lubelocker gasket you can just pop the cover off and check for metal and bearing play. 9 times out of 10 if loose bearings are caught all it takes is bearings to fix it. Let...

    Best aftermarket differential covers?

Hey I did that once except I did it in the car. Interesting little flash fire (whomp!)in the crankcase but I got a nut brazed on the outside of the pan and oil tight. My Mom’s 66 LTD...son has it now, still holding oil!

    Best aftermarket differential covers?

I changed the oil in both of mine by swapping to a D60 lol! The manual indicates the oil is drained with a suction gun... drilling it will work but will get your drill nasty...

    Alternator swap

I think there is reference to it on my manuals. I’ll look soon. But meantime I want to talk you out of it. Those old Leece units were rugged but not very efficient. They don’t charge well at low rpms. The 3G alternator from a Taurus is readily available inexpensive and out charges the old Leece.

    Best aftermarket differential covers?

The Dana 50 TTB doesn’t have a cover. Basically the diff unit is bolted to the back of the left I beam.

    Service box install

If I were you ( but not considering unmentioned things such as mileage, condition and recent repairs plus personal preference ) I would make the 97 a 4x4. Less work than swapping boxes. The other option is if your 4x4 truck is the one then just put a dually rearend under it if the lack of duals...

Help Narrowing Down 1988 F-250 7.3 IDI N/A Slipping Clutch Cause

I have had this same slipping issue a couple times on the past......one was a leaking front seal on trans (4sod....90wt) the other was a 7.3 Powerstroke that had dumped a gallon of oil in the valley from blown hpop. Both of them would have gone on forever if not made to slip. It is like a torque...

Help Narrowing Down 1988 F-250 7.3 IDI N/A Slipping Clutch Cause

Before ordering parts be sure to pull the inspection cover and check to see if it has a dmf or has already been converted to smf.

    Shudder at take off

On my 96 F250 CCSB 4x4 I had to install a 1” shim to drop the carrier bearing after raising the rear 2” to F350 height. Same low speed shudder. Do you have a one or two piece rear driveline? Does it have a carrier bearing?

1986 F350 IDI brake issue (among other thing but lets start with what could kill me first)

I would check and be sure there is clearance between the master cylinder piston and the pushrod coming out of the booster. If the master cylinder piston cannot completely return it blocks the fill port in the reservoir and odd things like this happen.

Where are you located maybe one of us can give you a hand?

    To continue project or??

Keep it and fix it. You know it. You just have to start over if you get a different one. Note to the rest of us....time to check the sealant in the cowl area below the wiper linkage. I found it failing and beginning to rust on my 96. Bet that is where my leak is on the 91.....Next on the list...

    Walbro FRB-13-2 6-8 psi 43 gph

As far as “tuning” the return flow from the top of the filter.....I removed the orficed fitting from the filter head and installed a plain hose barb. Then I installed a Swadgelok poppet valve with adjustable pressure. With a little trial and error I now have 7psi max fuel psi, 6.5 idling, 5.5...
