one of these are pretty much mandatory for me to work on my engine.

It’s for sure leaking right in the top of the pump. I took the 4 out and put a nice coating of rtv all over the bolt threads. Reinstalled and snugged all the bolts up.
Yep I’ll just snug up the bolts..I did a good job installing the seal and gasket. I really didn’t want to do this again.
Also I think I found my injector issue. The rear drivers injector was loose and had a massive deformed copper washer installed and then I figured I should check the next...
Howdy, so I’ve just drained my coolant and pulled my radiator to have it resoldered. The pressure test didn’t find it I guess. Shop said it’ll be an hour or so.
So anyways, my water pump needed the rtv bolts to be sealed and I thought I had a weeping leak on the top of the pump. I went to pull...
Where are you located? California?
Is that your house in the background or a neighbors?
I only ask because I’m just curious..really no judging here! Im
Curious if your shop area is in a neighborhood area? I have acres and a NJ neighbor ******* when she sees my two pigs! Couldn’t imagine the...
Thanks..i never really drive it..im
Waiting to cut out the drivers pan and replace it and then drop a new seat into it. Not sure why I even have the thing really?
When you say the think it’s an OBS..aren’t they? Or does that refer to PSD obs
Do people seriously just steal vehicles with wreckers now? Or is that the repo guy?
Thanks for the photo but I can’t make out what is what..I’ll try to look for a schematic..
Brake line/cruise control..never heard of that issue..I’ll check into that too I suppose I really don’t want to melt a bunch of stuff
So I’ve been driving the truck around just a bit..my abs light and parking brake light is on. Everything seems hooked up and functional. Parking brake isn’t set..
But the other thing I’ve noticed is while I have there is a burning electrical smell coming from the hvac system. Could my fan just...
Hey Brian, I’m further north than you and have a bunch of buddies way way north where I grew up. Most all run 15-40 as well. I’ve noticed a huge difference when I had PSD vehicles..but now that nothing I own is ran off injectors with high pressure oil..I didn’t notice a difference.
It’s been...
Did you find time to work on it yet?
I totally understand not having the time to get to a truck..but I’m going to replace my injectors and swap IP. But I’m getting tons of white smoke as well. It is cold but my old motor never did that
I know that when I did the main seals they were brittle..it would have poured oil out of those seals in no time at all. I’d hate to pull this motor again but I’ll learn the lesson. They didn’t take that much time considering I already had the water pump off.
I’m just avoiding draining my...
Why not do the front and rear main seals? The oil pan is east to get to..I changed all the gaskets on the exterior of the motor. It was so easy with the motor hanging from a chain. Now the motor is in and I have to reseal my water pump!
Maybe the multiple vehicles are the issue? I only speak from prior experience..even today I have two big diesel and two sprinters..I’ll tell you..it’s a lot of money to up keep them. Not worth it unless you have to have a truck. But again just my experience when I was younger and even today...
I know I always get 1000 cca batteries..and winter takes its toll.
A full size truck isn’t the best thing to have if you have limited funds. From what I’ve seen it only makes the situation much worse. Perhaps snag a small truck or simple sedan until you have enough funds to not skimp on things...
Couldn’t you run a water injection system in conjunction with the WMO? It would steam clean the internals at WOT. I’ve always wanted a diy water/**** kit..ever since 16! Not sure why I haven’t done it yet..
Pretty sad state when the word **** is not allowed! I wrote the short hand of methanol...
Boy I wish I did this before I swapped my motors. It’d really take the guessing “you sure this motor is good?” Out of my head. But then again..it was all to hard either.
Good luck!
