IGNITION HOT ACCESSORIES ??
Right through the key on your '85. It wasn't 'till '92 when the power distribution box was added to be powered by a starter type relay which is in the old spot of the actual starter relay on pre '92s. Kinda confusing if ya didn't know that '92+ trucks starter relay is actually on the starter...- adrianspeeder

E4OD to ZF-5 swap update.
Same pedals across the board from '84 to '91 so you are good to go. '92 the mounts changed along with the firewall in preparation for an airbag column. Adrianspeeder- adrianspeeder

diesel project question
Use 4low a lot with the broncos, (same BW1356 you'd prolly use, diesels wern't any different), and your good for about 45ish in overdrive at 3000rpm with 3.55s and 31's. Back in the day dad had a flatbed dually with a 300 and an M5OD-R2 backed with a 1356 but no front axle to make up for the...- adrianspeeder

No, not to an FE. If you get a 460 tranny, you could bolt to a 351M or 400, but otherwise only a small block or diesel. Adrianspeeder- adrianspeeder

electric fans????
This is a great debate over on FSB. The increased electrical load from a fan, is easily offset by a better alternator like the 3G from a Taurus or Stang, making that point a non issue. The real problem is moving enough CFMs of air. A dual electric fan setup just about equals a mechanical fan...- adrianspeeder

To buy or not to buy a 6.9l?
I usually buy first and ask questions later, but that might not work in your situation. Four speed will most def help over a C6 auto for getting some mileage numbers. Swap in a five speed ZF from an 88+ truck and your golden. Get the axle code from the door jam sticker. Adrianspeeder- adrianspeeder

Axle Identification
Yes, all the superduty F-250s have the 10.5 rear for sure. Your axle also has an open 3.73 which was the only ratio available with the diesels (LS being an option). Adrianspeeder- adrianspeeder

Smoked out of my own truck
My bet is on leaves burnin up from the blower resistors too. '80-'96s have a bad habit of that, but the good news is you can score a whole unit depending on what burned from any '80-'96 Fseries or Bronco from a junkyard. AC or non of course. Adrianspeeder- adrianspeeder
