while its out replace all the o rings and gaskets in the motor including the ones behind the front cover, also the furl bowl orings and the hpop.o rings also recomend the hp oil rail plugs at least at the backside of the head.
rebuild the oil cooler also.
I would even throw a new low pressure...
on 2wd check the radius arm bushings that may be the culprit, the other thing i have run into on obs truck is the fender bolts by the hood hinge being loose, but that would not affect tire wear
as far as I know any 94.5-97 will fit as long as auto or zf5 non california
Im assuming your truck is a zf so any non calii zf 5 should work, a auto cpu would get buy but wont be right.
benches front and rear up to 97 will fit right in. buckets from a reg cab that have the frame under it will bolt right in. Buckets without the frame will need holes drilled. 1999+ will work but will have to drill holes and use some spacers on a few holes.
