Wanted - Banks Pyrometer Gauge (dont need probe)

Recently discovered my truck has what looks to be a Banks pyro probe already installed on it. Looking for a used gauge to go with it. Don't necessarily need the probe if you don't have one. PM me please, I may miss it if you just reply.

    Antarctic IDI Build

Is 110 the spec for my 89' ? Might do this while my truck is apart. Already got most of the stuff pulled off for getting the injectors out. (you should get those today)

    Antarctic IDI Build

Interesting. Do you loosen them at all or just set the wrench to 110lbs and hit up each bolt? Also, I might have missed it, but did you ever get the water/air intercooler installed?

LED Headlight Bulbs in lieu of Relay

Just FYI building some relays was not the only reason I decided to try some LED lights. I'm not bad at soldering and wiring, and i've set up headlight relays before. Actually LED lights are more of an uncharted territory. I'm really hoping for a better than halogen performance. The pattern on my...

    Vacuum Warning Switch

I should probably test my factory warning system at least. How many inches of vacuum does a good pump pull?

LED Headlight Bulbs in lieu of Relay

Yes, the 9004 is what I used. In the instructions for the light you’ll note the adapter ring (pictured on the light, the thing with the o-ring) needs to come off and be inserted to the headlight housing. Turn the adapter ring until it unlocks from the light and pull it off. The adapter ring...

LED Headlight Bulbs in lieu of Relay

The left light was always aimed a bit higher than the right, even with the old halogens. I do plan to adjust these. My housings are new so I have plenty of adjustment available. I bolted them in and never messed with it.

LED Headlight Bulbs in lieu of Relay

Did not know of the Bronco Graveyard relays. I might have given those a shot, they're about the same price when you factor in shipping etc... Side note, I was re-reading the review that stated these draw 1.77 amps and I noticed that he was speaking about the 9005 High Beam. So these will draw...

LED Headlight Bulbs in lieu of Relay

The inadequacy of the stock wiring to support the current draw of halogen bulbs was very obvious on my 30 year old truck. Even after replacing my headlight housings and bulbs with new, and replacing the headlight switch in the dash which had some connection problems (and was getting HOT) my...

    Steering - Binding

Drove about a hundred miles since locking the hubs and no issues yet. I am planning to have the front and rear ends rebuilt and regeared to 3.55 this spring, so i'll get the U-joints replaced at that time.

    Vacuum Warning Switch

Dry vacuum pumps tend to crap out with no warning. I've had many vacuum pump failures in aircraft. they work fine for years, then just die mid-flight. A lot of people replace them at 500 hours

    3G Alternator and V-Belt Misfortune

I'll file this into "things I intend to do someday after all the important stuff is fixed" aka it will likely not get done unless I have to pull the engine for some reason

    I'm done

I was pretty close on paying 3k for a 4wd truck like you describe. Good 7.3, decent body and interior, transmission was shot. Honestly given the reputation of the e4od buying a truck with a bad transmission and getting it rebuilt right, and starting fresh would have been a bonus to me..

    Tire choices

I have 265/75/16 Corsa highway terrain tires from Discount tire. I think this may be a "house" brand. 45 psi front and 35 rear. No issues. They were cheap, about 90 bucks each for an E rated tire. I never buy off-brand tires but for the money I had to give these a try. Cant say how well they...

    Clutch Start Switch?

Think its the solenoid. Happened to me again, definitely hearing a loud click from the passenger side of the engine bay. I'll swap it out this weekend.

    Steering - Binding

I left it in 2wd and locked the hubs. Could feel some binding when turning the wheel. Went away after a few mins. That may have been the problem! Let yall know if it comes back...

    Steering - Binding

To be honest I have never driven it with the hubs engaged. I got it a few months ago and have basically been wrenching on it, or having someone else wrench on it, the whole time.

    3G Alternator and V-Belt Misfortune

Has someone done a write-up on switching to a serpentine belt? I wouldn't mind having one. My A/C compressor is shot anyway so I'll be buying another..
