    Project Stress Test

Well, that makes me feel better.... about the car at least. All of that other gloom and doom stuff though.... :bail

    Project Stress Test

Wow. Nothing lasts forever, but it's hard to believe that no one wants that old classic instead of it becoming a land torpedo. From the one photo, it appears in decent shape.... for now.

    Murphy and his Laws

Hmm, so does this mean that if he were Canadian he wouldn't have to P E E on his hands? :joker:

    Murphy and his Laws

The background of that picture with the car on the ramp is beautiful.... all except for that funny white stuff on the ground.

Reverse Lights, ZF5 (all other lights work)

Very good point. My transmission even says made in Germany on it. I'll find out once the new switch arrives and I'll post photographic evidence of the results.

Glow plugs heat at hot start

Okay, that's good to hear. Thanks.

Glow plugs heat at hot start

Okay, that's good to hear. It makes a bit more noise when it's frigid outside but within about 10-20 seconds the clatter is mostly gone, normal engine noise after that. I attributed that to a typical cold engine and wasn't overly concerned... until this thread. Thanks.

Glow plugs heat at hot start

I have the GP controller delete on my truck. I don't even bother with GP's unless it gets to 60's or less, (I live on the coast in Central Florida) then depending on ambient temperature I'll hold the button for a 6 to 8 second count and then hit the starter. It'll fire up in two revolutions or...

Anti Cavitation test strips and bottles where to get these days?

What do you mean by brown pad? The ones I use came from Napa, they are Wix filtration brand. They had an expiration date about 18 months past from when I bought them and I keep them in the house, not my shop.

Reverse Lights, ZF5 (all other lights work)

That's what I'm going with. If not, like I said, they're inexpensive enough that it won't break the bank. Thanks.

Reverse Lights, ZF5 (all other lights work)

I was asking because that's what I've been messing with today on mine. I just ordered a new switch and connector. My connector was definitely trashed but I'm not certain about the switch, I bought one anyway since they're inexpensive. I was mostly curious as to whether the same switch fits a 5...

The suspense is killing me.... how did this story end?

    Could this be the solution?

Woo hoo! Glad you got it going on. This has been a fun ride.

    Bringing it back to life!

I think it would be cheaper to fly you and your family down here, feed you, give you quarters and fly you back than it would be to screw it up myself. I love you, man. :hail

What is the going rate, reman 6.9/7.3 engine replacement and an injection pump

I like that plan. Now that I have my truck here in Florida I'm inclined to do that so I'll have a spare engine. It was going to be $3500+ to get the truck shipped from Idaho to Florida, I went with the Jasper engine and drove it home.

What is the going rate, reman 6.9/7.3 engine replacement and an injection pump

Seven months ago I paid $8k for a Jasper reman engine with IP. I used my old engine for a core. It came with a two year unlimited mile warranty, for what it's worth.

So what did you do with your truck today?

    I meant Mountain Home, duh.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I see Mountain View written on your tailgate. My father lived in Grandview for numerous years, that's where my truck is from.

    6.9 idi coolant drain

I used to use diesel as weed killer until I found out that a salt and vinegar solution with a little dish soap for surfactant works much better. Then again, I only have half an acre of property, you most likely have many acres of farmland you're dealing with.

Careful with that, you'll make Greta Thunberg shed a tear. :rotflmao

    Max safe sustainable RPM

I agree. The foot dimmer switch, the wing windows, manual transmission.... all that stuff appealed to me. This is the first diesel I've ever owned but I'm really gaining an appreciation for it.

Hmm, my steering wheel has issues.... wouldn't that be a convenient fix. ;Really

ISO a guy that could help me time my 93 non turbo.

Don't back up now, I think you had him cornered. If you keep encouraging him he may get so successful that he'll end up running the whole state of Florida and then raise my taxes. ;Poke
