I don't know enough of how a Holley blue works to help out with that side of things.
Today I finally figured out why my rear tank won't run any amount of WMO at all, and it was a chunk of crap at the inlet to the FSV! I can't remember if you deleted yours yet, but it had all the same symptoms...
The alternator should be charging about 14v-14.6v, engine running of course. Get a multimeter and check it out.
It doesn't sound like an alternator issue, but good to check. The fact that it started up fine that morning generally shows that, and that the battery is OK. 12.5 standing voltage is...
I did my spring bushing and an add-a-leaf plus all the axle work you've done and I agree that for that price it's a good deal! You saved a lot of hours and cursing for sure. LOL
Those are called olives around here, I'm sure they are actually square cut o-rings. But yes after many years they are a pain.
My originals were so hard I worried about damaging the brass fitting before getting that darn olive out!
Personally, I burned mine out after messing with it WAY too...
I'm trying to commiserate with you over the cold diesel shower, cause that sucks. BUT I'm laughing too hard at the santa mug and the Saftey 1st logo on the cardboard! :rotflmao
Nothing screams safety first like a diesel shower and a cup of joe.
That said, it'll be my turn soon as I need to...
Ok good call. What IP do you have?
Unless it's like a 110 pump or greater you'll be fine for boost, I agree. In my signature you can see my mods, IP is just maxed out and I get up to 15psi aftercooled boost. This is with the WG pressure line unplugged from boost reference and I plugged the hole...
That hat looks much taller than it "needs" to be. You should be able to cut that hat down shorter with a chop saw/tall bandsaw and some really steady hands...stay safe if you do! That's a tricky cut. You could put a some kind of screw through that hold down hole onto a block of wood that's wider...
My favorite are the boxes that look like that but the stuff inside is in perfect shape. Cause you're all disappointed thinking you'll have to do the return game...but somehow the goods inside are great.
My best story about that is when I ordered a surface plate on Amazon and I was home when the...
Story of my life... people are dumb. :frustrate
I back into EVERY parking spot, or pull through and have to walk a little farther to the store. Big whoop. Sure beats looking around for a spot for 3 minutes and being "that guy". I back into every spot because of spatial awareness; you already...
@KansasIDI For what it's worth, I appreciate you being a Hoonigan away from bystanders! I'm all for getting sideways and stuff as long as you're the only person you can(potentially) hurt. That's totally nuts about the ZF5 shrapnel! I wouldn't ever have thought somehow that flying bits would...
Nice work! My bed came with an access hole like that. I've long since lost the plug, doh. There are many times I wish I had it, but at least when I know I'm going for a dump run/wood hauling/whatever I lay a sheet of plywood down first and then it's no issue. I think group 31's will be my next...
I hear you on the amps but I've never see that happen with volts.
Also, your truck should be charging at 13.8-14.6v-ish. 13.2 is low, you may run into weak batteries in the future from low charge.
It can be a bear for sure. The nut is CW or "left handed thread", at least a v-belt IDI is. Dunno about serp systems. To quote myself from FTE:
"A tip I figured out was to loosen those 4 smaller bolts about two turns each. At least with the kit from Oriellly's, the big wrench that goes over...
Welcome to the forums. My only experience with something like this is when I ran my alt without the sense wire hooked up, and because it couldn't detect(sense) the voltage it just went full field. My first thought would be to check that you have continuity from the sense wire, see the yellow...
Ha, wow that's quite the habit... nice work getting clean and staying clean. Staying on the same page financially(with total honesty) is actually one of the best ways to have a STRONG marriage, and most Americans have no idea. It's huge for trust and accountability and closeness.
Fuel drainback happens slowly and overnight. After first start, die, crank crank crank, run-- it doesn't come back until you park again overnight. Does not affect running or parking for minutes or even hours.
Yep, that's what I'm saying. :Thumbs Up I found some pictures online and the schrader...
Sounds like FedEx. At least around here they are mostly/all? independent contractors, not FedEx employees. You never know what you're gonna get...and at least one of them needs to learn how to slow down in my neighborhood...
Ok now we are getting somewhere! Having zero flow out of the IP(while running) means for certain you have zero flow INTO the IP, or its junk.
These IP's are a flow-through design, the extra fuel cools them down and the housing pressure differential is used to control the timing. No fuel coming...
Just to help your memory out, a healthy alternator should put out right about 14.6v at full charge. It'll lower to 13.8ish when the batteries are fully charged and there isn't much load. At least it does with my 3G.
I'm right there with you and my oldest is only 10yrs! $400 at Costco every two/three weeks and about $200 every 1.5 weeks at QFC. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when I have 3 teens in the house...
The min/max screw is primarily for the low RPM fuel delivery. It's was Stanadyne's solution for keeping the smoke down at low RPMs since the DB2 pumps push max fuel at like 1200 RPM and it tapers off from there. I've never read about it changing the max RPM, that thread included. It does change...
