    We're rich!

Before everyone jumps on the bandwagon, those prices are in monopoly money. It's like $320 US.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Reminds self that I have to censor in this forum......

    Picked up 96 F250 5 Speed.

So I have an update. I dropped the oil yesterday and about 2 1/2 gallons of crystal clear water came out before any oil. None of it was milkshaked. Great. Oof. I knew this might be a scenario, and it was. I then pulled the oil filter. Zero water contamination in the oil filter. This is a good...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Today I ordered a one piece flywheel for the IDI. My truck was originally NA, so I ordered that flywheel. The donor truck is a Powerstroke and I am planning to drill the flywheel so I can use the 13" Powerstroke clutch setup. I have the tools necessary to do it right, so that is my plan.

    Picked up 96 F250 5 Speed.

In conversation with the seller he suggested he messed up in his troubleshooting. He at one point thought it was the HPOP as well. He said pulling the injectors was the wrong move as after it was all said and done he found that one of the IPR wires was detached from the IPR plug. Thinks that...

Wanted 1 factory 16" Alcoa SRW

Well I lucked into a set of 3, factory alcoas on a truck I just picked up. So now I just need 1. Thanks. Edit. Picture of wheel. I can get a close up if needed.

    Picked up 96 F250 5 Speed.

After another day of assessing this trucks condition I am not going to scrap it. Unless of course the engine is shot. I will make a legit attempt to get it running before making that decision. Any parts needed I can either borrow from my other 7.3 Powerstroke, which is getting a new frame...

    Picked up 96 F250 5 Speed.

So in my quest to obtain a 5 speed swap for my 93' F350 IDI I came across this truck. It was priced similar to what I am seeing a ZF-5 go for by itself. The good. Well it's 4wd. Seems completeish. (More on that in a bit) 7.3 Powerstroke that does turn over. New IDM. (Previous owner installed...

So what did you do with your truck today?

That is one option. The truck doesn't seem scrap bad. I haven't had a chance to go through it yet and see what's good/bad. If I can get it running well I may throw a spare E4OD in it and give it to my son. He want's an OBS Ford pretty bad. I got a title with it. He's on deployment currently...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Today, actually yesterday but I just got home, I picked up a 5 sp donor truck. 96 F250 7.3 Powerstroke ZF5. Engine is good but he pulled the injectors chasing a no start. New IDM as well. He suggested at this point it could be IPR wiring as he believes one of the wires is broken off the plug...

Engine swap - 2001 into an early 1999

Should swap right over just fine. I believe the injector spec's were different on the 99 from the 01, but since IDM's are interchangeable year over year it shouldn't be an issue.

    I am perplexed

Good to know. I will make sure I address it before putting the truck back into service. Apparently the truck ran well before the squirrel got it, at least that's what I was told, as the damage happened before I acquired it. So I naturally thought it was the crossed exposed wires that damaged...

Engine making a "knocking" sound and whistling from the exhaust. What things should i check?

Have you tried loosening 1 injector line at a time while running to see if it is indeed injector related? When I bought my skid steer it had a bad knock. Thought it might be the bottom end initially. It was extremely obvious that it was injector related, not mechanical, and which cylinder when...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Well today Big Ugly got the front grill, bumper, and headlights installed. Managed to get the bumper sitting a bit straighter than before. I noticed the upper part of the mount on the frame was bent backwards a bit so I bent them back forward. Also added a shim to the top bumper bolt. It's...

Original early copper brass radiators vs aluminum

Thank you for that. It is a bit far, 330 miles, but it may be an option. I am going to talk with my local heavy equipment dealer first, and see if there are any local options I am unaware of. If I can't find anything local I will give him a call. Also. years ago (2017-18) I used to have to work...

Original early copper brass radiators vs aluminum

Can you share where you got it? Internet searches are turning up nothing for me. Edit. Radiator Express has it for $1039. As usual you can't find the answer until you've asked the question.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Today Installed new mirrors. The originals wouldn't stay in place anymore. Been fighting them for a couple years, could rig them and they would work for a few weeks then get sloppy again. Finally they reached bobble head status. Went with the LMC set as the trust vs Amazon was greater than the...

Original early copper brass radiators vs aluminum

I just recently noticed a slight sweet smell after driving my truck. I have a very minor leak at the bottom right of the radiator. It is the 33 year old original. Still cools just fine and I lose maybe a quart of coolant every 300 miles currently. I am going to pull it out and inspect the leak...

    Portable Inflator suggestions

I asked because I am really looking for onboard air on the cheap. I have a 30lb propane tank I am planning to use for an air tank, will make an air manifold and plumb lines front and rear. In my situation it would be for more than airing up tires, and I expect it'll get a fair bit of run time...

    Portable Inflator suggestions

That is good to know. In an emergency I used a Slime plug set to fix a mower tire. Air was literally leaking out through the center fibers of the plug once fitted. It never did stop leaking. Lesson learned on that one.

    Portable Inflator suggestions

Curious about that one. Seems like a knockoff of the Ez-Flate MOAB. What concerned me with the NAPA model is no warranty expressed or implied. You've obviously had a good run of it. How much run time would you say it has on it currently?

    95 F350 Frame Swap to 96 F-Superduty.

Well today, after too long of a break (mostly due to weather) some progress was made. I decided, due to the convenience of having a 25' gooseneck, I will do the initial build on the trailer. Once the axles are in place I will move it to the ground. This will keep me out of the mud, which we...

    I am perplexed

I just went through something very similar in December. Removed entire engine harness, all sheathing and even all the foil tape around the injector wires, and went through it wire by wire. Also checked everything on the truck side to the IDM. All wiring good. Got new gaskets, swapped to the...

4WD IDI C6 are hard to find?

Well that is important information. I had read the SAE#2 information sometime back but wasn't aware it was incorrect. Thanks for the clarification.
