    Dang. I don't think it'll work. The compressor side line is very straight. Looking at the picture of the RV, the line appears to bend away to the side before going down, because it has to clear the fuel filter. Sadly, I can't find any better photo of that line.

    The air-cooled VW community is similar, if not worse. The few remaining people with the very old knowledge are typically over 80 years old now. But it's also far more well documented than IDIs, so that makes up for it somewhat. But also I'm constantly seeing people saying incorrect things...

    The cheap bonded O'Reilly shoes with lifetime warranty worked great, vs the expensive riveted ones that were made wrong. So... yeah. Didn't have any problems with bonded shoes on a 27ft motorhome being driven through the mountains, and towing ~1500lbs without trailer brakes.

    Vans (at least through 91 for sure) had Saginaw power steering pumps, which trucks didn't. So, presumably, that's why vans use same belt for both. The pulley/pump probably mounts a bit differently. But perhaps trucks can use 9580 for power steering also, as an alternative size.

    Vans only run it from the grill to the cowl, which isn't very far. Although that one kinda goes away from the compressor at an angle on the hard line, then bends back with the hose to get to the compressor. Tighter space than trucks but maybe it'll still fit, even if it's a bit longer.

    If not water, if it has rained heavily recently. My VW got pure water from a gas pump in Arizona last winter, as did everyone else pumping regular. anyone pumping mid grade got 50% water.
