    1991 7.3 IDI ATS - E4OD Torque Converter Woes?

The E4OD by no means is a bullet proof transmission. There are some parts that can be updated to be more reliable, any reputable transmission shop would know to check for those. When you say she's stalling, is the transmission failing to go into gear, or is the engine stalling? Could be two...

    1992 F450 rebuild 7.3L idi

I brought it up because EGT's are the killers of these engines, cracking and melting pistons by those who run them too hard. If you're going with that turbo kit, you could really benifit from an intercooler. I ran CDD's stock 093 kit for a year without a cooler, then put one on and saw EGT's...

    1992 F450 rebuild 7.3L idi

I think I remember seeing Mahle offers .010 over. What exactly do you mean by "forged" internals on these? Most would say an "ideal" build is PSD rods machined to fit turbo pistons and you'll have a sound bottom end. For top end, if you are going turbo, comp springs. Nothing really left to...

If the hone marks look good and you don't have abnornal wear, just put it back together with head studs and it'll do just fine.

    Need Quick Help Fender Relay?

If you jumped the two large posts and still had weak start, the relay isn't the problem. Good luck my friend.

    Vacuum Filling Coolant (1993 7.3 IDI)....possible Concerns??

First of all... If your system is only half full, then your coolant sensor won't read correctly. Secondly, these engines love to produce heat. If you have no water to transfer heat then you're overheating your engine. You keep doing what you want, but I'll always keep making sure I have good oil...

Worn exhaust guides--intakes look good. Why?

Don't quote me, but I don't believe the valve guides are serviceable, so you can drill em' out and press whatever you want in.

    70 amps alternator wire question

Did she start up? Low batteried and fast cranking do not usually go hand in hand. If you are measuring battery voltage while cranking, it is normal to see the voltage dip, even to 9v in some cases.

    70 amps alternator wire question

Well, the spark plug is grounded by the engine, and electricity is provided to just the tip of the plug. The dielectric grease on the boot is, or should only be getting on the ceramic, so the boot slides on all the way.

    70 amps alternator wire question

I use dielectric grease on the seal of electrical connectors, spark pluhlg boots, and sometimes window weather stripping. Works great when installing them.

    70 amps alternator wire question

That is typically the only place you're supposed to use dielectric grease, helps prevent arcing from the lead to the ground side of the spark plug.

    70 amps alternator wire question

Dielectric grease does NOT conduct electricity. It is actually an insulator. Common misinformation. Sounds like you are on the right path, flickering lights could be a poor ground too. Check the block grounds and cab grounds.
