    All the check valves you need in the system are already present. There are 2 in the mechanical lift pump, and 1 in the injection pump. Any others added would be redundant and unnecessary.

    Sounds like you're close. Not having it floored is the biggest mistake I see people make. Flooring it purges the air in the lines way faster. Charge them up and try again. You'll get it, it just takes time.

    I've asked that myself a few times over the years. Nobody has really given me a decent answer. In the 6.0, that pulls air from above the headlight, whereas the main one pulls air in from just below that and closer to the radiator. Never understood the need for 2.

    There's an actuator on the end of the cylinder that gets sticky with age. You'll have to remove the steering wheel and clean it and then regrease it with some light lube, like silicone spray. I typically see them broke, because guys won't fix it until it is broken and no longer moves.

    Ideally you want as little vacuum as possible. Ford manual specs no more then 6 in/hg vac pre lift pump. The fact that you had 10 in/hg post lift pump, tells me you'll have at least that pre-lift pump, unless the lift pump is the restriction.

    Most say overnight. it won't hurt anything if you leave it in there longer. Where exactly is your leak coming from? Bottom bowl to filter seal? Try tightening it more, or get a 1 piece filter with a drain. A lot of guys have issues with those leaking iirc.
