    Power steering pump choice (rockauto)

Some differences are the pumps for hydroboost brakes is basically the same but the plastic reservoir has two low pressure returns. If you have vacuum brake booster then you only need the one return

So what did you do with your truck today?

I think what asmith was talking about was once you have marked you would heat a bolt or some other metal rod and use that to make the hole. Keeps it from tearing or unraveling

    E40d, what should I do?

I really thought it was a good deal. Just a small local shop literally a mom and pop shop (just a husband and wife) and so far so good with the transmission. It was cheaper than getting a rebuild kit and doing a terrible job trying to do it myself

    E40d, what should I do?

I had mine rebuilt in Cass County ( that won't mean much to most of you but @Coltonreece should know). I took mine to a non chain owner run shop called R.A.M.M. Transmission. I had it out and took it to them, with new torque converter upgraded internals it was less than $1500 for 4x4 E4OD ant...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I took the truck for the longest run so far since rehabing it. About 30 miles of 70 mph highway. That's further than I could have gone before without something starting to squal horribly, but I replaced all the bearing in the drivetrain. I Set the cruise and cranked up the A/C and it rolled...

Got the A/C rocking! Don't want to cruise around sweaty LOL

So what did you do with your truck today?

Well thank you for what you do! I train alot hoping to not have to use it. I work in the industrial chemical biz so we have a small ERT on site. We are working on getting different foam there. But yeah I have been baptized in it LOL

So what did you do with your truck today?

@Trouzt I am not gonna say this would be your experience but, after I replaced my rear tank recently mine didn't read correctly but I figured I would run it. Once I fueled it up it worked as it should. I am not suggesting you fill it but even if it doesn't read right. You still have the forward...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I put some dorman anti rattle door striker plastics on. Wow! I didn't know that the plastic had always been missing. The doors close so nice and tight now. Wish I had looked into it along time ago

So what did you do with your truck today?

I got kick off our local professional football team unaffiliated site that started because people wanted to talk about other things besides football. Well TDS took it over and I ( along with an abundance of High West Bourbon) told a few of them that seemed to always bully people with opposing...

    Cylinder misfire

@IDIBRONCO I put some Hotshot Secret Extreme (probably double dose)in the tank and have been driving it around. Everything is definitely improving. Plus it is all new parts in the motor too so that is helping too getting those motor guts some real driving exercise

Thank you! And it is a shame he had to take jabs at everyone. Seemed like he had some good input sometimes. I was hoping to get his MPG secrets before he departed

Rear drum brake keeper spring pop off

I don't know anything about them but, I have to tell you, those are the cleanest drum brakes I have ever seen. Even if you just worked on them, they usually never look that good.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Tonight I got the Ol' Boy back together. Had to re-seal the valve cover and freed up a stuck injector. Got it started and everything looked good, sounded good so I took it for a drive. Got on the highway and rolled it down the road about 70 mph. Boost getting on the highway would go a little...

    Thank you

Great work! Glad you got your truck running. I let mine sit for a few years. Didn't intend to leave it for that long. I also was able to get information from all the members here to 1. Feel like I could tackle a big project like I knew it would be. 2. Get the resources for part 3. Get good...

    Cylinder misfire

I agree. Think I will put it in a different hole when I put it back and reset timing with a better stick in the #1 and get some Hot Shot Secret in the tank

    Cylinder misfire

I found that the injector in #1 was kind of gummed up so I ran a combo of transmission fluid diesel clean, seafoam and diesel fuel through it (alot) and it started popping as normal, a little light on the pop pressure but it will have to do for now. The valve cover leak I am pretty sure was due...

    Another Pop tester build

Goat is correct on the pop pressure and the danger of the diesel injecting through the skin. That is why I have the glass jar to be able to see the pattern and to protect from the spray. Thank you Goat for adding that.

    Serpentine belt question

I think you may have to run some rope around where your serpentine belt would go, mark it and measure the length. There will probably be better answers from others on here. I think someone on here ran that by pass of the vacuum pump after installing a hydroboost brake and electric vacuum pump...

    Cylinder misfire

Some good news. The #1 cylinder has great compression I was working on getting the right side injectors out. I have the R&D aluminum rail so they all got to come out. Got way too hot in the shop so I will have to get after it tomorrow
