just throwing out a random Idea i had today while driving. I have never taken one of these engines apart so I am not sure how the cover and waterpump interact, but from your description it sounds like the waterpump clamps down the front cover. If that is true is there maybe a high spot or low...
I wonder if it had to do with temperatures like you said. When the engine is up to running temp, and then cools down something somewhere expands and contracts enough to cause a small leak?

good to hear they could help you out. everyone there are amazing people and willing to give you the shirt off your back. I just sent you a PM with my number. when are you going to be coming through? would love to meet up if i can work my schedule around.
Man I love Hume Lake!!! I can't tell you how much time I have spent there as a student, then counselor, now mostly just to visit. As you probably know they have a full auto shop there and could probably give you a great idea of what is going on.
Enjoy your time there.
Let me know if you...
I can go look at the one on SLO craigslist in Nipomo. It is not far from where I live and actually right around the corner from the house I am working on. I know nothing about these cars though. I can check for rust and basic drivability.
You may not want to or even be able to drive through...
Yes i believe you are right, that fin count and core size is more important, icanfixall had some numbers on fin count in past threads. If i remember correctly the autozone radiator is also down on fins per square inch. I just remember other people having issues with this radiator and it not...
you are the only one I know of who has had it work. There are a few on here who have not been able to keep their truck cool with those radiators, especially towing heavy and up grades. many have a hard time with a three core. If it works for you great. not trying to be a dick, I really like...
I am surprised no one has said anything about this. I don't know what radiator you have, but most two core radiators do not cool enough. Most people run a three core at minimum with some people running four core.
Definitely change the thermostat. Makes a huge difference in how much coolant it...
That is very generous of you. I might take you up on that. The part you bought, was it a manual hydro-boost assembly? Where did you find it?

Well my pedal assembly is worn, not terrible but 200,000 miles worth of clutching and braking on it.
On top of that I don't have a drill press or a welder. If I need to I will modify the old one, but if I can get a new one for a decent price I think I would rather go that route.
Right now...
OK so slowly gathering parts for my truck. was trying to make it to August because my little brother is getting married at the end of this month and it is super busy getting ready for it. but the truck has other plans. on my way to work today the torque converter decided to start unlocking...
two things. Who is Gary? As in what's his handle on here? lol
This is the most badass dually. Perfect stance. And the bull nose gives it such a great look!!

Gary here is gruss on the board. He rarely pops in but still hangs out with us. The dually is...

This is the only one I know of. it is pricey but not $15k!! Also I have heard nothing, but amazing things about this rifle. apparently one of the most accurate ones out of the box out there. this is all hearsay though. I have no experience with it.

I will definitely keep you informed of my progress. Not sure on price. maybe a swap for some small fab work or other parts. Maybe some sweet inner fenders like yours:sly:sly I know that would be more time than the engine is worth probably, but i can dream cant I?
What time frame are you looking at for this? I will have a 7.3 Na available, but not until at least the end of summer. I am just about to get started stripping down my 7.3 turbo for a rebuild and when that is done dropping it in place of the the 7.3 NA. I am not sure of the condition of the...
Weiperts RV storage is right around the corner from Dyers on Vachell ln. I grew up with their son. good people. I dont know their rules on non running vehicles, or how much it costs, but they may be able to help you out.
Hey I live about 15 minutes north of you. I grew up in San Luis, and drive through every day. Where are staying? I don't really have anything to add or help. I dont know much about Powestrokes and I don't have anywhere for you to work Sorry. I do know you took it to the best diesel shop...
Thanks towcat i will give the parts bin a look. had no idea you could still get pedals from ford. let me look at my budget. just had to take the wifes car into the shop today. should know the damage later tonight and then I will let you know about the other parts.
still looking for anything and everything for this swap. especially pedals. Even if you just know where there are some in a yard I will throw in some extra for your time.
Looking for complete hydroboost setup, including pedals for a manual transmission, for a '94 F-350. let me know what you have and maybe we can work out a deal.
this is a spare engine I will be building. It is coming out of my wrecked truck and will be swapped into my current one when the build is done.
thanks for the help so far I am sure I will have more questions for you and others in the coming days.
