question regarding multi weight motor oil

What about ck4 oil being more shear resistant? Ck-4 is not all about making the emission equipment last, but needing a tougher oil to survive the harsher conditions of modern diesel. Some of the additives are really not needed in the higher levels of yesteryear. Main reason for reducing...

question regarding multi weight motor oil

At 0 degrees 15w40 will flow like a straight 15 weight oil at 0f degrees. At 212f 15w40 will flow like straight 40w oil at 212f. So straight weight 40 oil should help where out the engine faster when cold by taking longer for the oil to be pumped where needed.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I think I dodged a bullet here or extended my time. I had some minor coolant issues this spring, heater hot then cold, up and down temp reading, more then normal coolant into the overflow tank, a little extra white smoke in the morning. Gave a little extra torque on the head studs and all...

How to remove a front knuckle? And other process-related questions.

Tightening may help, but that adjustment on top is because the gears are tapered. Adjustment works great for setting new gears with a straight taper. Once the gears wear and have a curve in them they can't really be adjusted back to a new feeling. They tend to go from really loose to over...

Mostly cow trails on this side of the state, crazy some of the hills they go up. Would love to get to the mountains again for some nasty technical single track.

Questions about Dana 70 wheel seals

I would verify which rear end you have. Casting on the front of the center section will have 60, 70, 80 cast into it. Most of the parts look up seem to be for econolines. My guess is your rv was ordered from ford as a cab and chassis. I would say all bets are off looking at any parts lookup...

Who makes the best valve cover gaskets?

I have had a poor success rate with the rubber gaskets. One side sealed up the other leaked through multiple gaskets and different valve covers. Installed a cork gasket and no more leaks. I think the rubber gaskets are stiffer then the valve cover flange. I install my gaskets dry, as rtv...
