I'm just going to add to your confusion, but you should be aware of the arc height, a lighter rated spring with more arc may sit higher once installed then a heavier spring with lower arc height.
Judging by the numbers I would say you are looking at michigan truck and spring.
I would measure...
Lack of install manual and I can figure this out. Having the lock out hooked up correctly and yet not understanding my gear vendors was not shifting into overdrive because of the 4 wheel lock stays triggered and 4wd switch was to touchy and triggering when left in 2wd position intermittently...
Lets get this straight its violent tire hop, tire chirp, violent tire hop, tire chirp, hop tire chirp, panic freeze up grip wheel push in clutch hop boom, :dunno
Also the lockout staying engaged once activated is a good saftey measure, many trasnfer cases will remain engaged once shifted from 4h to 2h as a spring actually pushes on the fork to engage or disengage the shift hub or a spring directly on the shift hub. 1345 uses a spring pushing on the...
The switch on the 1345 (something ancient) will ground before the front end is engaged when pulling the shift lever, if the gear vendors 4x4 lockout is connected to the switch on the 1345 it will disengage the gearvendors before the front axle is engaged. The gear vendors is looking for a...
One more thing for the love of your driveline, make sure you have a the 4x4 lock out wired up and test it with HUBS LOCKED OUT by shifting into overdrive with t case in 4x4 and shifting the transfer case from 2 to 4 with overdrive engaged at low speeds preferably not on pavement. I imagine your...
My 1984 extended cab started with a t-19 four speed and was swapped to a zf5 with no changes to driveshafts. My next step was a gearvendors, ironically purchased before the zf5, and is attached to a 1345 borgwarner. I had a complete custom rear driveshaft made up, front half was shortend...
The best luck I have with starters is rebuilding oems from the junkyard. If the starter is oem I would rather let the vehicle be down 4-5 days getting parts for the starter then replacing it with reman or knockoff. Most of the gear reduction starters simply where down the brushes till there...
Take note on where to run the return line from the injection pump, do not run it into a injector cap use the diagram on the Conestoga link that IDioit provided. An unrestricted return line on the injection pump makes a notable difference.
To stay with the same units
Torque is just how hard you hit the wall, nothing to do with it moving even though it might.
Hp is how many times you can hit the wall in a given amount of time multiplied by how hard you hit.
hp has to have a time factor ie so many times per minute or rpm...
One addition to your example. Is torque multiplication. Engines with a torque curve higher in the rpm are going to have more torque at the rear wheels for the same speed at the wheel due to higher gear multiplication. 3.5 is able to produce much more wheel tq and hence more wheel hp. The...
I have had good luck with banks. Banks is a damn good company with excellent products, the quality and fit is on par with oem. You have to treat it like pulling a heavy load with an IDI. Be patient and don't beat the snot out it you will get their but not fast. The people you are talking to...
May not be worth it for mpg, at least I cannot verify as I just ended up driving faster with the gv unit. It does reduce the noise level though, and contrary to what non owners say splitting 3rd with the close ratio zf does comes in handy when pulling. My gv is sending power to 3.55 though.
Not only cheaper then flex lines, but steel lines will provide a better brake pedal feel, flex lines will expand more then a steel line when pressure is applied.
Old bull right its not the circuit breaker in the fuse box. Its the built non replaceable circuit breaker in the headlight switch. The bimetallic switch fatigues over time, think of if as a larger version of a blinker flasher. Hi beams pull more amps then the low beams and heats up the...
EFI 460 heads only fit the efi intake manifold and exhaust manifolds. The EFI heads have raised ports and not the big dead space on the bottom side of the exhaust, they are probably a better head if you can figure out how to run them. Price motor sport does make intake adapters. Or make an...
