well I installed the new slack ajusters on my Mack, manuals, and the truck stops SOOOO much better. but now that I can actually adjust the rear brakes, I can see they are REALLY wore down. so tomorrow I'm gonna pull the brakes apart and replace the shoes. my Dads 96 Ram has over 160,000 miles on it and the tranny is all stock an original!!! I think he's only changed the ATF 3-4 times. oh yeah a year ago or so I moved the fuel plate in my Dads 96 12v Cummins and what an awsome increase in power!! it makes the truck actucally drivable it was such a dog before!! you gotta love mechanical engines!!- dondiesel444

I went ahead and bought 4 manual slack adjusters today. I'm gonna install them tomorrow and see how it works. it's too scary driving around with only 3 brakes which are not adjusted right and one that doesn't work at all....- dondiesel444

mine have that little spring and plunger too. if I hold the plunger out with a screwdriver, I can't turn the adjuster, it just won't tighten. however, if I back off the adjuster, it does turn. the brakes are so far off on the one side, I can look throguht the inspection hole and the lining...- dondiesel444

all I can saw is WOW the Hypermax 330 makes just as much power as the TS 4-position I used to have, but with lower boost and MUCH lower EGT's. and the best part is the drivability is AWSOME, the throttle isn't touchy and jumpy like with the TS.
