    A/C clutch engages the disengages

I agree it would probably be a bandaid fix. I just want to have some ac since I'm in the truck several hours a day and it is getting pretty toasty. If there is not shims or I cant fix it by modifying it somehow I'll probably just order a clutch and be done with it.

    A/C clutch engages the disengages

@ifrythings Air gap is more than 0.067. I know it's supposed to be 0.020-0.030. I wouldn't have thought it could have been that much more.

    A/C clutch engages the disengages

I dont know what the air gap is. I was thinking about getting some feeler gauges I believe they are called to find out. There are no spacers in between the plate and clutch. I was starting to consider grinding a little off one of the two to see if it would make a difference but havent gotten it...

Where to plug this vacuum line in

I already checked for leaks like you are suggesting. All the lines are good. And so is the one way valve. I had everything hose hooked up except the vacuum pump which the hose connected to it was connected to the hand pump and guage. If I took the valve off the booster and held my finger over...

    A/C clutch engages the disengages

I forgot to see whether it spikes. I'll check in the morning and let you know. I'm thinking it's either the clutch or compressor. I'll probably order the compressor if it is one of the two so I dont waste money on a clutch and it be the compressor

Where to plug this vacuum line in

I'm only 30ft above sea level. But when I get the pump tomorrow I'll see what it does. I would think though that if the booster runs on a vacuum that it would hold a vaccum when connected to a pump. When I put the new booster in the pedal went from being hard to just going to the floor and...

    A/C clutch engages the disengages

Dryer sweats and ac clutch engages when truck cranks and when the ac gets turned on but after several minutes it disengages again but it came back on as soon as I hit it again.

Where to plug this vacuum line in

Correct it only produces about 5inhg but if I take the hose off the vacuum pump and connect it to the hand pump pictured shouldn't there still be a vacuum throughout the rest of the system of hoses and brake booster? Or is the vaccum in the booster only there when you press the pedal down? I...

    A/C clutch engages the disengages

I connected a guage to check the level and it was in the blue/Filled section. Yes the Dryer does sweat I believe but it's always done that even before this issue. I'll check to make sure that it still does. I'll check for the sweating and if it kicks on without tapping it. I feel like sometimes...

    A/C clutch engages the disengages

I got you now. I dont know very much about the A/C systems in vehicles. I appreciate the info. I'm just not sure what caused this all of a sudden. I am probably gonna take it off and see if I can see anything significant.

Where to plug this vacuum line in

Could the brake booster be bad or am I missing something? When I took the old one out and pressed on the shaft that goes into the master cylinder it released air. Same with the new but no vacuum when I connect s pump to the hose

Where to plug this vacuum line in

Well I changed the brake booster but it still doesnt hold vacuum according to the hand pump and gauge. If I remove the check valve and put my thumb on the end the vacuum holds but as soon as I put it in the booster no vacuum.

    A/C clutch engages the disengages

Sorry for the debacle that was that post. I wrote that while working and it was rushed. I checked the wiring and plug and made sure the connections were good. Also freon is filled. Is the clutch that plate that comes off or is in the compressor?

    A/C clutch engages the disengages

When I crank the truck it doesnt engage if the ac is on or gets turned on but if I tap the plate it immediately spins and starts blowing cool air. But as after a few minutes of driving it stops blowing cold and the clutch disengages I took it off to try to remove a spacer like some people...

Where to plug this vacuum line in

Where to plug this vacuum line in

Yeah that's what I was thinking but then I connected the hose to the vacuum distributor and the other end to the pump and wasnt getting a vacuum. Checked each line with my finger against the each end one by one and found the brake booster to be leaking too. The booster was brand new a year and a...

Where to plug this vacuum line in

Yeah I bought another hand pump with a gauge because I lost the one I bought last year. I connected it to the line coming from the vacuum pump and it only reads 5 inHg. I just replaced the vacuum pump a year ago I'm pretty sure but perhaps the fire damaged it because it was having this issue...

Where to plug this vacuum line in

Is there a possibility that this, solenoid I believe, could have got damaged in the engine fire? I got a vacuum gauge last night and I'm gonn see if my system is loosing vacuum but if not what would that thing be called?

Where to plug this vacuum line in

The heat an ac works fine but i cant get it to switch from defrost. I've looked up the causes and I just dont know if it's the vacuum line not being right or if the solenoid could be bad

Where to plug this vacuum line in

I believe it may have been connected at the sensor looking plug with the TEE in front of it before but I'm not sure how the other lines hook together then. I do not see any other port aside from that one that could be connected to. I remember pulling the connector off at the sensor when...

What do you mean by the dryer? I'm not sure what that is.

Where to plug this vacuum line in

It's from the harness that connects in the heater box. I had an engine fire that melted the lines but I have no idea where the black goes. I'd greatly appreciate being pointed in the right direction

Last minute question before putting heads back

I'm replacing the head gasket due to some starter fluid use. Someone told me I should have the heads checked for and warped areas. There is what looks like some carbon build up on the top of the piston bore hole. But that's opposite the side that actually was damaged from starting fluid. The...

    Pushrod out of alignment?

I agree with you on the glowplug. The tip of the glowplug above that cylinder was broke off but no other ones were. What do you mean by grenaded?
