Hi all , i have a customer with a 99 ram 2500 5.9 . I'm trying to find him a new RAWL part number 05003312AA but after waiting for 7 weeks and getting nothing but a refund from Summit Racing i'm starting to struggle ..... any ideas on where i could find this unit??
I used to run a sawmill like this nearly 25 years ago .... had an 80hp ford 5000 diesel on it. The biggest problem we had with it was the radiator kept on getting blocked up fines from the sawdust.
We always wondered how an aircooled deutz diesel would have done in place of the old ford.
Try one of these .... i use them for brakecleen and have used it with petrol for washing down hard to reach bits. https://www.amazon.com/Vaper-19419-Spray-Non-Aerosol-Sprayer/dp/B0035FH906
Wes , if you had your mate make one from fibreglass and got it finished perfectly smooth you would be able to have it 3D scanned. You could then either have it printed and "shrink wrapped" with a thin vinyl which could be coloured whichever way you like ....this would hide the porosity and make...
The Cherokee came out factory diesel here .... the early ones had a 2.5 VM diesel in them. As far as diesel in Suzuki the vitara (tracker) came with a factory Mazda R2 turbo diesel in place , they were very economical and got along the road pretty well. The smaller samurai here was popular in...
I use Sinopec 15/40 SM/CF Grade in most of the older diesels that come through the shop ...... wholesale price of about $430.00 usd for a 44 gal drum makes it one of the cheaper oils out there which pleases the hell out of my customers :):)
This is a good idea - i get the engine up to temp and spray gp's with inox (bit like pb blaster) leave it overnight and then remove. V6 diesel mercs have a gp that is about 8 inches long so you do not want one of those suckers twisting off on you :):). I can remember getting that pis**d off with...
I do this as well ..... i have a small oven in my shop just for stuff like this - also works well for "cooking off" gear oil from brake shoes when an axle seal lets go. Using this trick is about the best way to fit a new ring gear onto flywheels too.
Most trailer brakes out here are like this ..... some can be a right bustard to do too!!!! . I've even resorted to lifting the front of the trailer up with the forklift to damn near vertical to get the last of the air bubbles out of brake lines. I've also had some success with reverse pressure...
Thanks mate , progress has stalled at the moment as i'm snowed under with work .... i had to let my employee go a few weeks ago and now work is piling up - my wife says i need to learn to say no more often :):). I'm lining up to get over to Cali this year and get my grubby paws on an idi of some...
That would be a very profitable rate here ..... here the cost to transport a car from Dunedin to Christchurch would be just over $200 , which would be just under a dollar per mile .Going north here is always cheaper though!!
Very impressive build , once i'd seen this post and got over the length of a sum total so far of 176 pages :):) i started at the beginning and am up to page 29 ...... what happened to some of your pictures?
By using English imperial gallons i can , if the stars are aligned , my right foot is not twitchy and at 100 km/h cruise get 22mpg out of mine ..... that's with me using the hho system too.
Let's get back to the original post.
Firstly if you want a light duty f series pickup with a diesel engine and it has to be a Ford , you're going to have to build it ...... no older factory diesel f100/150s in the US as far as i know.
Secondly at 5000 ft altitude you are going to want a...
Today i had a 68 triumph herald in ..... should have taken a couple of pic's of it. Customer complained of noisy gearbox and a notchy feel to the shift ........ what little oil that was in it had turned to sludge!!! - this guy could teach fish a thing or two about being a tight arse :) as he...
If you ever do get stuck and have to rely solely on a silicone gasket then a good trick is to get an even smear on one surface and let it "skin off" for 10 - 15 minutes before assembling ..... been doing this on old english cars for years as the castings deteriorate over 60 odd years to the...
Real world experience in a 3.0 diesel hilux na vs turbo ..... with the turbo 3.0 your foot isn't right up it to maintain 100km/hr cruise - non turbo you'll have your foot flat on the floor far more often. Same with the Nissan Avenirs - 2.0 diesel n/a and turbo with 75 and 100 hp respectively. I...
This is me to a T ..... last idi i saw for sale here locally went for 17k so while i'm waiting for the sun, stars and moon to align and get a chance to get back over to California and snag one , i'm soaking up idi knowledge - most of the diesel work in my shop is of the jap and euro variety.
I haven't seen that kind of pump before but it looks like a vane style one which won't suck very well and they score the pump housing out pretty quick when they are run dry ..... if you are really married to the idea of having it on top , i'd build a small tank (say 1/2 -3/4 gallon) and mount it...
Thanks mate .... i'd had a poke around on google and then just cobbled it together out of what i had laying around. That motor is only 250w but i wanted to try it because it spins at 2800rpm .... geared down i'm spinning the fuge at a hair over 2000rpm and it takes about 5 seconds to spin up to...
