Ya I figured I would go ahead and change out the rear main. I ordered the LUK kit this afternoon. I just really hope it holds up tell the new stuff gets here...
I got lucky with my 89 7.3 it sat for 5 years and I got it and haven’t really had any issues I had to do a starter and radiator and injector return lines turned the pump up a little and advanced the timing a bit and it runs awesome. Maybe it is just gummed up.
The hot shot does work really well I use it every couple months and to amazing how it helps my fuel mileage. I had a bottle get a hole in my tool box and it took forever to get the smell out I can’t imagine getting it on your skin!
Sorry it’s an 89 and ya I assume it’s the original and I’ve got a new one ordered should be here in a few days. And idk what I’m gonna do with the old one yet
I just ordered a new one I’ll park it tell it gets here. I’m surprised I didn’t have any temp problems. I’m gonna flush the block really good before I put the new one in.
Well went to put a new block heater in today and I opened the drain on my radiator and the thing was ice cold? I warmed my truck up and drove and 5 miles to my shop and so it was nice and warm but the bottom of the radiator was cold as ice and the top was hot as can be. Never had any cooling...
I use a test light put on the positive terminal of your battery and touch the top of the glow plug and if it lights up it’s still good. If the test light doesn’t light up it’s no good anymore.
my cold advance didn’t work either so I wired in a switch and ran a wire to it so I can manually turn it on in the mornings. Helps a lot when it’s really cold
