Which gold pump, the one on the frame or the one on the table? They are both currently available. The one on the counter is by Carter, and is available both "real" and knock-off.
The one on the frame, I have used a bunch of over decades and only had to replace two. They cost so little I...
On the subject of getting fuel from the tank to the IP, I think many of you are spending too much time and money on the subject.
Based on the request for a dead horse emoji, I assume the common talk about a Facet pump it is a 40223 that people are referring to. A brief look at eBay shows...
On the advice of a Power Stop rep at SEMA, I put Z36 Extreme Truck and Tow on my E350 PSD front and rear.
They are back in the box, still near new. Coming down from the eastern Sierras they faded BAD!!.
Ford used an idler pulley on their V belt AC compressors. It is a pulley you can easily adapt to whatever you need.
This is my van.

I have an IDI C6. It drove in in my 89 parts van.
I am in SoCal. I will probably be in Florida in June.
But that is after Hot Rod Power Tour. The tour starts in Memphis, TN. I might be able to live with an extra transmission until Memphis.
Pics 9&10 of this album are my Raycor filter; when it was new, clean and shiny, and much later.
I kept the "dirty filter switch".
The other common filter is for the trans.

I assume the speedometer in electronic, true? If so, where does it get the speed signal. Everything that uses vehicle speed would use the same signal.
Isn't 1998 a PSD. So yes we are in the wrong forum. But Baumman is general to E4OD, AODE,,,.
But, Doesn't an 89 have a power train...
I have a first gen Baumman in my van and a quickshift4 in a 65 Mustang/AODE.
The sample files in the first gen were generally close to what worked for me. The AODE file had shift points set so high that at 40MPH it was still in low gear. I needed to do a complete reprogram before I could even...
When you indicated a problem because there was no VSS port in the tail housing, I assumed you were depending on it for both trans and speedometer.
How are you driving the speedometer?
You need a hole in the output shaft housing, and, a speedometer gear on the output shaft. I once received a trans that had the hole but not the gear. It went back to the builder for a shaft change. They accepted responsibility because I had specified number of teeth, and zero was not the...
I've seeing some of your postings about standalone controllers and Econoline vans. You seem like the go-to guy. Looking for some input. (98 Econoline van, 5.4, e4od. I installed the wrong transmission. Vss issues.)
What are your issues?
Shall I edit it to replace balls with ball bearings? So your turkey will not be offended?
But ball bearing generally refers to a bearing assembly that uses balls rather than some other bearing surface material. But the subject here is not when the balls are acting as bearings - that is while...
When you remove enough stuff that you can bend the joint to max, you can see the nut. There are two pair of balls. The nut applies pressure simultaneously on both pair of balls. The trick is to apply pressure equally on both pair of balls.
There are no needles. The joint is not like any I have ever seen. I call it wobble plates separated by four balls. There is a nut in the center that can tighten the plates. The trick is to get the pressure on all four balls equal, after you determine how to get a wrench on the nut.
Some considerations regarding replacing cap screws with studs. We only have a torque spec for cap screws.
What we are trying to achieve is clamping force. That is a linear force, which is difficult to measure directly. So, when the engine is released by engineering, it comes with rotational...
Regarding supply/lift pumps causing problems. I have so far not proven to myself that we even need one.
For about 27 years one of these pulse pumps was my supply/lift pump. Several times I drove without the pump running and the engine did not seem to notice. But those pumps, when not...
Look here, center column, row eleven. That is a Harbor Freight rated 1K#. After I picked the engine off the floor, I rebuilt the stand and it is now 1K#.

Don't even need torque, just rotational momentum will do it.
I am in So-Cal. We have this thing called Baker grade. We are climbing, foot on the floor. Speed is dropping. I am chatting with my wife. I switch to drop out of OD, fail to lift foot from the floor, convertor unlocks, trans...
I built the E4OD in my E350. I did it by-the-book. Three days for the trans and two days for the updated valve body. If I had immediately done another, probably one day total.
Trans and valve body about $400.
Triple disk billet converter $200-400.
Metal drain back valve a few bucks.
I can...
I have a rebuilt IP. At the moment I do not have any info on the builder. Who ever it was, at least had access to blank tags. At least I think that is a fresh tag.
What does the tag say about the pump?
See pics.
