    Auto diesel vs diesel #2?

A lot of misinformation and assumptions here. Each state may have slightly different rules, but if you question it, look up the rules for your state. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

    T444e problems

Should be a tag on the side of the trans. It's likely a 1000 series Allison. Pretty common. I bought filters at bumper to bumper. Can also be purchased online. When you say disengage and re-engage, could you explain that more? The injectors in these are driven by a high pressure oil pump...

    T444e problems

You need to see if the fuel bowl is full after sitting a few days. Same for the hpop reservoir. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

    T444e problems

It's a county district, so they have to go off the lowest bulk bidder. Iirc, the last one was Rotella 15-40. I don't think it was synthetic. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

    T444e problems

Kinda depends. Our dumptrucks see a lot of idle time. At least I aimed for 250hrs. Almost never happened. For being a fairly large fleet, I recommended oil samples. But that'll likely never happen either. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

    T444e problems

In a medium duty like that, I would aim for 250hrs/2500 miles or so. Definitely harder on the oil than in a pickup. Could also come down to a oil quality issue. I would run a cleaner/additive for a few changes. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

    Anybody use a grid heater?

Like the springy looking one above, 99-03 7.3. People talk about the Cummins grid heaters. Thing is, the Cummins doesn't need it. Most I've been around will start down into the teens without grid heaters very easily. Probably 90% delete it as a restriction. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

    Anybody use a grid heater?

On the powerstroke, it doesn't aide starting. It's a emissions device to reduce smoke on cold starts. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

Get a picture of the engine. Powerstroke didn't come out until 1994.5. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

    No crank

To clarify, is your truck auto or manual? The push rod goes through above the throttle pedal, not the clutch pedal side. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk

    7.3 tear down/rebuild (hydrolocked)

There were talks of selling complete engines. Don't know if it came to fruition. Wouldn't hurt to ask. OTOH, searching for good machine shops by word of mouth and personal experiences can turn up results as well. IMO, a good machine shop is just that. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
