Make sure that the body of the fender mounted regulator is grounded well. If its still overcharging the new regulator is bad. I went through 3 in a few months.
I gave up on those and got a motorcraft one from a wreck. The gas engine trucks use the same regulator.
I wanted a 3/4 ton or 1 ton ford pickup. I needed a 4x4,bigger cab and a stickshift. I was originally looking for a 1996 or newer truck but those were out of my price range. I then began looking at 85 and up trucks. I was actually looking for one with the 300-6. All I found was beat up ones with...
These engines tend to consume more oil than others do.mine uses a qt every 800 miles. If I went 5000 miles and didn't check the oil ( like most people)it would be 6 QTS low by then. Being that low on oil and merging on the Fwy is a recipe for disaster.

Mine had the stock pipes, muffler and tail pipe with screans in it. I had a local shop put 3 inch pipe and a 3 inch flowmaster on it thinking that would improve it's power. Made no difference whatsoever!
Thinking of going with duals to see if that helps.
My stock system had the screens in the tip and sounded like an air hose. Had a shop put 3inch pipe with a flowmaster on it. Made no difference in power but lots more noise around 1700 rpm.
