So @laserjock I've kind of had a sudden thought come to mind. We talked the other day about your coolant filter and turbo returning to a separate port on your water pump. My thought was that with them in that extra port that too much coolant was bypassing the radiator and just circulating around...
Call and talk to Forrester Farm Equipment in Chambersburg, Pa. They are well known for turning these into pulling engines in the tractor world. I'm sure they could tell you the strengths and weaknesses plus any cheap or free upgrades you could do. The Ford 401 aka 6.6l was used in farm tractors...
This is the first time I had to pay for a tow though. Any other time I was able to bandaid her together and limp her back home. It was a learning experience though. This time the lesson was always take a trailer when you go to the races just in case, haha!
Yep Heath, my brother and Ben showed up with my new used transfer case Saturday evening and we had her back together and driving in less than 45mins. I gotta say thanks to everyone who helped me pull it out and diagnose the issue Friday night. It was like a swarm around my truck and next thing...
I sure did, lol! But I put up a good fight, haha! And then had the ride of shame back to the campground............90mph in a roll back with my truck on the bed.
This is my quickest et slip.............the pass right before I shredded the transfercase, haha! As you can see I was definitely sleeping on the line. This was my first time actually running my truck at a track. I did have a much better reaction time on one of my 2wd passes.
You didn't cut me off, lol! That's called merging and I saw you pulling out anyways, haha! Thanks for the great video @F350camper it's pretty cool to watch my truck in the races. I'm kinda impressed how well the turbo cleans it up. You can tell which one was when I launched in 2nd 4x4 high and...
Like Chris said it's a 97 psd AFE stage 2 intake. I actually found it used on Facebook maketplace. I didn't want to buy a new one if I couldn't make it fit, haha! The rest of the specs on the engine are it's a 7.3l IDIT that I just rebuilt last year with .020in over Mahle .010in lowered...
Ok so I know @no mufflers is loosing his mind trying to get his truck ready so I guess I'll take the lead, lol! As far as I can see Elijah, @subway , @chillman88 , and I are shooting to meet at the Flying J in Carlisle at 11am on Sunday morning. I'm not forgetting anyone am I? I'm figuring we...
Well if she complains too much she can always drive your truck and you can ride down in my truck with the A/C also if you wanted I can bring our vacuum pump and gauges along to maybe fix the ac at the rally?
I thought since we are a little over a week away we should bring this back to the top. What's a refresher on the route and stops along the way? I know a bunch of us are meeting at the Flying J in Carlisle at 11-11:30 and then heading down 81S to the campground. Who all is getting in on the...
I actually bought one of those from Mel. I just wasn't sure if it would flow enough to be on the inlet side of my Fass. I don't want to restrict the pump and end up burning it up.
I haven't put clear hose anywhere else yet, but it's in the plan too. Also something weird I noticed last night, it doesn't do it as bad when I park the truck nose downhill.
That's for sure! Heck I had to turn and angle it just right to clear the shifter, lol! Eventually I want to build an overhead console to put it above the mirror.
I second possible gasoline instead of diesel. Would make sense since you just filled it up. Otherwise I'd start looking to valve issues. It almost sounds like its coming through the intake.
Yeah, the only odd thing is its not a slow leak back to the tank. It will drain it all back in about 2 seconds. The one thing I want to do yet is drop the tank and lengthen the return tube. I didn't do it originally cause I didn't think it was necessary, but now it's the only possible idea I have.
