This is a personal choice I suppose....most often its about surface prep more than this or that product.
So personally I am NOT a fan of RTV in place of a gasket....

May want to try a simple but really fricken hard fix.
Remove small clutch arm from clutch pedal cross shaft....the arm that actuates the clutch mc.
Now with it off...and free...reinstall it aligned so as the mc rod eye lines up....
Just saying....its about the only...

Do you have an oil temp guage? Oil is a primary coolant fyi....adding auxillary oil cooling could be the end all be all....

If valve is stuck...
Say ex stuck...the motion of piston will make some noise out intake...and visa versa
Just saying....air will be moving about at wrong times and should likely create some kind of audible noise.

Though no cracks the plate on engine bay side could be seperating.
I suggest have someone press clutch and u watch firewall in engine bay.
Also look into the Major kit for firwall reinforcement....it made a huge difference to my wheel doing what yours is doing.
