    Slowly going over the little 1.9, it's only got 140,000k on it and budget is really tight, so I'm just doing the timing belt, water pump and other related wear items. I also swapped in a non EGR intake manifold and a k14 turbo from an AAZ idi. I spent some time cleaning up the intake ports...

    I'm not sure about the relays maybe @chillman88 will chime in. Probably a good idea to upgrade the upgrade with some fuses.

    It sure is :Thumbs Up Before I did the relay harness in Diego, I was getting an intermittent burning smell from the dash:eek: when I upgraded the harness, I replaced the brittle, cooked headlight switch.

    Unfortunately the 01 is an AHL engine and has the oil pump in the front. It's not gonna work w/o a bunch of fabrication. The ones before yours, the AAZ idi and the AHU, the first TDI (what I have) have the oil pump in the rear and you can buy or build a custom pan and pick up so that it will fit...

    Not to derail the thread, but what did you get? I just recently got a AHU from a '98 Jetta that I'll be swapping in to our '96 Tracker. The more I learn about the TDI engines, the more impressive they are...

    I did, it was NA too. I can attest to the underwhelming power with the NA engine. It was so bad for towing, I put a turbo kit on it(thanks Russ!). Then I Got stuck with it and the trailer. Sold it to @chillman88 and bought a 4×4 idit. I guess it all depends on what your needs are...
