    I overfilled my ZF and the rear seal (new by the way) leaked until I drained it to the level of the fill plug. What a smelly mess all over the exhaust!

    Just thought I'd post another failure. I am a machinist by trade and drilled the 6 holes for grade 8 bolts using new drills. The steel being drilled through is pretty hard. Harder than I expected in the material used even with coolant so keeping a sharp bit may be pretty important or reaming...

    Heath, It's a real lousy situation. I just did a lot of work and got it all done and set up for reliable use too. I would like to keep it but I guess it just isn't feasible. The wife wants a car and guess we will be looking for a VW TDI or something along that line. Whoever gets this truck...

    1992 F250 Custom 2x4 IDI diesel, 5 speed, extended cab, long bed. 195k on truck, about 50k on engine. Factory rebuilt transmission. A/C, cruise control, new starter, clutch, and rear main seal. New tires. I believe it to be a good reliable truck. Hate selling but can't keep everything...

    Hood Pull Cable?

    I already lubed it and it is working freely but the cable is definitely too long by about 3/4 inch. Guess I'll see if a cable supply company around here has a way to crimp a new fitting on for a shorter loop. Thanks for the responses!

    Does anyone know if any of the diesel fuel additives actually mix with and remove some water? Just thought it might be a good idea for a while since I got my Ford running this past week and it has been setting with the tanks empty for a year of so. Seems to be running well but I am cautious.......

    SMF Minimum thicknes

    I can't imagine there being a problem until the release bearing lever won't operate the bearing any longer. Even then you could modify the lever to make up for it. I guess if you got radically thin it could warp the flywheel from heat and torque.
