zf5 conversion help

So i'm just finishing up my zf5 conversion and have a few questions, first is that I unplugged the auto tranny harness from up by driver side fender and plugged in the manual harness than I plugged in the clutch safety switch wire harness that was tucked under the dash but it still wont turn over when i hit the key with clutch pushed in. Should I put auto harness back in and try jumping wires???

And the 2nd question is would the auto pcm make it surge really bad with manual trans after start up both cold and warm?
