ZF Trans Brake - Bearing going bad?

Picked up a 1991 f 450 with a 460/ ZF five speed. It has the ZF park brake assy. On the way home it started to make a roller bearing going bad noise and sounded as it was from the trans area. If I feathered the throttle or took the load off the drive train it would go away. Anyone have experience with these units?

time to start hunting for a rebuilt trans brake.
the PO neglected the oil level and the internals committed suicide. you're going to be really irate when you get the parts bill though.
