I've had several salvage titled trucks in Utah that we're easy insured and registered and always passed inspection @Macrobb where ya at in Idaho i head to Lewiston a few times a year

All the way up in Sandpoint, though I do get down towards Coeur d'Alene every couple of weeks.

I've spent a bit of time in Coeur d'alene for work in the past and I was there before Christmas took the kids to the North Pole bit they have on the lake

Thanks again for everyone's advice. As promised, the verdict:

I received word back from my claims adjuster, they came out an looked at the truck on Monday. They marked it as total loss and then made an offer that allowed me to recover everything (financially) I had in the truck and then the opportunity to buy it back. Let's just say I spent more on the tires than the cost of buying it back. So I'm very pleased with the settlement. The title will be branded salvaged then it's up to me to ensure it will pass a safety inspection. For $125 plus some other odds an end fees I can have it inspected and have a 'rebuilt' title issued and my insurance will cover it with liability.
