I was asked today where is the timing tab that the magnetic probe fits in for timing our idi engine. This may help out. It has plenty of other timing information and its not mine. I found it on ebay for this information. I kinda like how the pump was moved with the wrench and the turn buckle too. Might use that in my timing meter rental program some day too...

Thanks Gary, that was quite usefull.

I too like the turnbuckle idea, especially for setting the RPM, sweet! I can tell you I'll be putting two turnbuckles into my kit!

Clearly you can see that with TIMING TAPE there would be NO need for an adjustable timing light and one could just use a ferret adapter and regular inductive pick up light! JM2CW

This is what makes these trucks so great to work on, people coming up with kewl ideas to make things simple!

I have the actual throttle set tool that Rotunda made for their timing meters. I got it in a bunch of parts I bought once. When I use one of my timing meters I get up on the front o the truck because I have cut holes in the front bumper for more air to the lower radiater section. Then I turn on the ignition to run. Jumper the fender mount solenoid and watch the revs as I advance them on the timing meter. I also can watch the degrees of timing on the meter too. I will try to post the viedo in a few minutes here..
