the gv is rebuildable. the usg in the first post is a questionmark. i don't take anyone's word that "it works" when it is that corroded.

and as corroded as the internal case gear is,, i wouldnt give a dime for it..IF that gear is available,, cant imagine what it would cost...the way it is,,it would destroy itself,,and the accompanying gear before tooooo long..

The Doug Nash unit is missing parts, it may not even work and it could even be an underdrive unit. It doesn't even look like the DNE2 that is in my garage, it must be older? I wouldn't even pay $100 for it.

I think I am going to bid up on the GV, they are a bit pricey new. I really want o/d. I wonder how hard it would be to make the GV unit shift on its own, and split gears every shift, like a 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 type deal. That would make the truck a bit quicker then it is.
