Towing capabilities

I've had a hard time figuring out what kind of weight my truck can pull. I currently have a light weight travel trailer but want to upgrade to a fifth wheel toyhauler. Anybody have an idea on a safe towing weight? A 2500 4x4with light mods.

Your own common sense and driving skill are the biggest factors. Having seen the frames under 94+ dodges and knowing how terrible the brakes are I would limit towing to 20K GCVW at an absolute max, but I know there are many that best 30K with 2wd duallies.

Thanks for the info. I kinda figured the number would be in that ball park. Seems the 3/4 ton trucks built then cant pull the same amount as the more current trucks.
