i know you guys have covered this before, but the shops in my area don't work on IDI engines any more and I need to do my own timing.I have 2 trucks with IdI and one with first diect power stoke always broke down. thanks for any help.:dunno

A Ferret adapter - I believe this is the one I have - can't verify because it's loaned out. Add any inductive timing light with programmable advance & RPM readout. Look for a thread by OLDBULL8 on it's use, plus the instructions were pretty easy even for me.

I went with the Ferret after getting a used Snap On off eBay that was a bit more worn and incomplete than the description, and having to return it.
