temp sensor/switch

Okay guy i have a question which sensor controls the engine light and which sensor controls the timing advance and the high idle? If I remember right the one near the fuel filter is controls the timing advance and the one in the head controls the temp light, am I right here or backwards?

That is correct, I removed the light sensor in the head and this is where I put my mechanical gauge, then you can leave the one in the block for the dash gauge, double the info.
