I still feel strongly about pushing fuel vs. pulling, fuel pumps are designed this way and frankly, I like the idea of easier engine access for my '94 IDI Van by relocating factory filter head and putting it in a protected spot along frame rail with a guard. Anyone else do this?

i would go with something like a 7.3L superduty electric lift pump,a regulator, and going with a frame mount filter set up-, one water sep and another regular fuel filter, so two filters in total. that would also get rid of the factory filter head.

Going back to the original post, has anyone noticed any difference in fuel pressure or flow or pump lifespan whether the pump is mounted on the frame by the tank or in the engine bay?

depends on the type of pump. if it is a puller(duralift) then i would say up in the engine bay is best. if it is a pusher pump(super duty pump) then down on the frame right after the tanks.
