Hello
Calling from sweden.
and this is my first thread.=)

I have a Banks sidewinder 6.2 turbo that i need to repair
i have googled for like 100 hours and no real luck yet..:/

it seams impossible to find any info on what kind off compressor wheel i should have or anything else for that matters.
so i wonder if you guys have some info on how to locate spares?

I have tryed to talk to Banks, but they refuse to sell spares, same thing with
Banks dealers
I have sent messages to almost every turbo guru on ebay with no luck.

so the only ide i have left is to send the measurements to Jiangsu, China and lath them copy the Compressor assembly, and make banks go out of business ..=)
Im not joking, i have had contact with them and the answered this.

We can offer you different types of compressor wheel according to your OEM number or samples or drawings.
We will make balance testing for you also .
and the price were about 12us if i buy 50

And the could also make a total copy of the turbo if i wanted that.

Sorry for my bad english.

Dogge.

hi!
I do have a friend with a complete banks kit I can do some referencing off of.
I've also upgraded to the Banks wastegated turbo for the IH 6.9/7.3 on the chevv with very positive results.
google up "oliver diesel 6.2 gm" and take a look what they have done.

If you can do some referencing it would be nice.=)
im thinking, because it seams that there is no info on compressor wheels or nothing, i want to sort things out, ones for all.
and if Banks dont want to sell them, hey,,,then we make them ourselves..=)

you noticed your location got changed?
the way you posted your location tripped a eastern bloc spammer warning.
I did some research on location via google and reinstated you.
unfortunately for you guys over in Europe, most US firewalls are set pretty sensitive no thanks to the damage eastern bloc spammers cause.

the problem with Banks is they use many proprietary parts. if you want to stay banks, your best best it to contact Typ4/russ. he is the go-to guy for rebuilding

I have read about that, but will the heads/gaskets realy hold up for that kind of pressure?
After 12 psi they start to blow, that is what they say here in sweden?
but it is interesting, but seams hard to find.

get yourself a new harmonic balancer ASAP.

The first engine blow up because of that, "Harmonic balanser"
the other 2 engine blew up because of webb cracks, one second everything was fine and then BOM..
on one engine the block survived the crank failure.
this is on a period of 15 years..=)

The 6.2 i have now has everything new, i inspekted everything for cracks
even had a camera and checked the heads water channels for cracks, it has a new harmonic balanser ofcourse, but im thinking of buying the fluid damper that everybody talks about, but it was expensive.
my garage is full of 6.2 parts..

Ousch, my tec english sux..:puke:

I have searched the net and found photos of bank turbos and almost everyone has 8/8 compressor wheel, mine has a 6/6?
my banks kit is on it´s way from US right now, bought it on Ebay
when i recive it I will disassemble it in molecules and mesure everything.

I do not want to rush you TYP4,:sorry: but I'm extremely curious as to what you will tell..;Lick

nice... you yank that one from a van towcat? what did you do with the under side of the intake plenum to hook up your silicone hose? do you see any difference compared to a normal f-code 6.5l intake? that is a great use for the center mount heads.... once again great job for thinking outside the box....;Sweet
