Not just a today project as I do not want anyone getting the idea that I am a man of speed. This has been over the past week or so.
Worked on the dash, when I replaced the light switch the plastic was breaking out where switch mounts so made a metal plate to reinforce the area. Right side brace was broke where most of them do so picked up a hurricane strap at the lumber yard and fit it in place. Took the bounce out.
Changed the antifreeze and coolant hoses, replaced the thermostat and block heater. Way more of a project then what it should have been as the parts house could not seem to get me the correct parts. Took twice on the upper radiator hose, first block heater was 400 watts which would not have done much in this area, fan belt was wrong twice and I finally just put the old one back on for now. Thermostat gasket was not correct so I made one. It is a forty mile round trip to the parts house so it really slows things down when they can not get things correct. Would not be quite so bad but much of this they did not stock so means another trip once they get things in.
I pulled the starter to make life a little easier installing the block heater. There was a little rust in the hole and I just could not get a good angle to clean it up with the starter in the way. At least they are not 40MT starters like I usually have to pull. This one seemed like a cake walk in comparison.
Installed a set of DeeZee running boards and fender flairs for the front wheels. Much easier getting into the truck now and hopefully it will stay cleaner as a added bonus.
I learned how to polish aluminum rims. It looks so much nicer now from where I sit behind the wheel!
