long story short im selling my f150 to a guy and on his old truck he has 245-75-16 Firestone winterforce that he wants to trade for $500 off of my F150. now of course our tires, are 235-85-16. so these tires are 1.1" smaller in diameter than what should be on there.. and my truck already has really low gears, and i fear it will make my highway revs much higher...

So should i go for it? or just say no thanks?

im thinking i should not take the tires

I wouldn't...the smaller tires won't do you any favors, you don't know the history of them, and for that matter, what's the load range and weight rating?

Tires and alloy wheels? Yes
Just tires? No

You can go to randy ring and pinion website to see what the change will be to your rpms

No way I would give $500 for used tires that were not the size I wanted.

I would most certainly hold out for the tallest tires you can fit to keep your RPM's down. I have gone from 34.5" tires to 32" tires, and finally back to a 33.4" tire and can say that it makes a considerable difference on overall drive ratio changing size. You will have better leverage putting that extra $500 towards the exact tires that you want... buy once, buy right.
