Shaking under throttle 1991 F-250

Ok, another question.

1991, 7.3 IDI, shakes really bad under any throttle. Put about 50 miles on it, hasn't gotten any better and idles kinda rough at about 550 RPM. Smoke slowly turning from whitish blue to black . Should i go ahead and do the fuel filter now, and when i put in the fresh fuel and additive?

Does this shaking happen only under load? Things to check... U-joints, clutch or torque converter... get the injectors pop tested.

U-joints are getting replaced tonight, hopefully that'll help. Fuel filter, is it like a gasser, will it drain when i pull it? or can i just unscrew it and go?
