Saginaw Power Steering Pump

Has anyone swapped in a Saginaw power steering pump into their rig? If so is there already a thread that exist because I could not find anything using the search feature.

If someone has done this, what all is involved and do you have pics?

I haven't done it, just read threads on it.
But, two common ways;
1. Find an IDI van in the bone yard and pull the accessory mounts off it.
2. Find the rare Ford bolt pattern Saginaw pump.

If I read everything correctly it sounds like the P/S pump bracket was the same on gasser and IDI E-Series vans so that should make finding one a little easier. Just got to make sure its a V-Belt.

From what I can gather they are a higher pressure and quieter operating pump. I am not sure if there is more or less but that seem to be what I have read several times.

Higher flow rate and pressures, a lot more aftermarket support, and great for hydraulic steering assist which is why I am pursing this.

There are lots of threads here on this...and here is one...but for gassers...this is the alleged and much coveted adapted pump to fit our PS pump housing with Serp belts as far as I know...it may fit non serp brackets I don't know...

If you find a diesel van it's got the brackets...

Lets just put it this way, the Steering wheel in my Motorhome (Saginaw Pump) is easier to turn, standing still, than the steering wheel in my F150, moving! (Ford C2 pump).
