Polling the OB peanut gallery, as your opinions and experiences seem to be the most in-line with mine, of all the online forums!

I know rear disc brakes are a contentious subject on these 10.25 axles. I've found some posts with favorable outcomes with nice bolt on brackets and the 1987 Chevy 3/4 ton calipers. What is the opinion of these? I know parking brakes is an issue, but mine has been broken since 2014 and I haven't missed it yet, so.....

This kinda pioneered the current bolt-on brackets. Post I saw was 2006 : http://wt4x4.com/tech/discbrakes.htm

Well I just ordered all the drum brake parts I'll need to completely rebuild my drums. Guess I made my decision. For towing with the gooseneck, I figured I better stick with factory parts rather then modified maybe-too-small parts.

I'll try and get my hydroboost swapped in soon

I've now officially created a useless post. Have a great day!

Yeah, for Towing those kits are too small.
But you can modify the newer SD ones to fit.

So I was in a junkyard yesterday and there was an 1999 E350 there with a 10.5 Sterling (I think) edit: I see now they are Dana 70 full floaters?? or maybe just Dana 60?

The spring perches measured 49.5" on center and the distance from the spring perch to the hub face was 9"

I know those measurements are out there somewhere for all these disc brake axles, I just thought I'd write those down here for myself and others.

my very own hell
SRW or DRW? The DRW is Dana 70HD, and its WMS is within an inch of the pickup DRW axle. IIRC the SRW is indeed D60...

It was a SRW. The discs on it looked awesome. If it was a 70 with discs I'd go grab it. 60 is a bit small in the rear for my liking. Although I see that you can retrofit 70 guts and 1.5" 35 spline shafts into these 60 housings...cookoo
