Are you wanting to know what JUST the radiater or the complete cooling system holds.. If its the complete system then the posting of 8 gallons is about it. Probably closer to 7.5 gallons but whats left can fit in the recovery tank..

Is there anything wrong with using the universal coolant in the truck? Also, is there a torque for the rocker arms when I put them back on?

You can use universal coolant (green) but you need to make sure it is low in silicates. I would also use an additive such as napakool to help prevent cavitation and corrosion.
Rocker arm torque specs are 20 ft/lbs if I can remember correctly. Make sure the rockers are screwed down evenly then torque to specs

I would not use any of the all makes all models or universal coolants. Most if not all are a clone of Dexcool. IMO Dexcool does not belong anywhere near our trucks.

Low Silicates coolant with SCA's is what you want.
