Hi.
Ever since last winter, the truck has been extremely tempermental in cold weather. During the winter even with being plugged in and having diesel fuel treatment, it still smoked excessively for 10+ mins at start-up. Now that the temperature has warmed up, the truck still smokes for excessively for at least 5+ minutes. I have left it out in the sun all day, 70+ outside temp, and it still rough idles and smokes like a chimney. The smoke is white always and the injectors and IP were replaced less than 15,000 ago.

Any news, either good or bad is appreciated!!!!

Does your engine build up heat? if not it could be a stuck open thermostat. And just remember, just cuz its new dont mean it works!

Does the cold advance on the Injection pumpwork? also sounds like the static timing is off a little.

When this started happening had any thing been done to the truck, maintenance, repairers or anything?

I don't know about the timing. It worked great all summer, but when winter came around things started heading south. The temperature gauge works, but its stock. I just hate having to plug it in when the temp the next day will be mid to high 70s.

It could be a number of things. From a plugged air filter- bad pump/inj's.

Gonna have to start doing some trouble shooting. Start with the basics, filters, GP's, timing.
