I agree there. And in the same position as I'd rather take a chance fixing something on my own. Worst case scenario, I have to buy a rebuilt unit.
The stuff I'd be messing with is/are 7.3/6.9 and 6.2/6.5. Plus maybe whatever I can find at the junk yard.
Just curious to see how some stuff works.

Or you blow up an engine...... Probably not that likely, but something to keep in mind.

I'll make sure to take lots of pics when I do the DB2. I also have electronic copies of a Standyne DB2 manual a IH 7.3 manual that covers the DB2 if you're interested.

That'd be cool. I wouldn't be too worried about blowing one up. I buy all my vehicles cheap and do bartering. I paid 950 for the 88, 1300 for my 79 chevy, and 2000 for my 94 psd, paid 400 for the bronco II I used to have. All bought in running driving condition. I've been in the tops of pumps and had to remove/reinstall governor assemblies, not a problem yet.
And I sorta meant stuff that probably won't be used again. Like seeing why a pump quit, internal differences of different pumps, like vw, Mercedes, etc.....
Just stuff like that.
