 Hey fellers, I have a new challenge for you. When it gets below freezing 25 deg. or less my starter will not engage. Nothing, nada, zip!!! I have juice. I just upgraded battery cables, cleaned connection etc. etc. Sometimes if i hold shift lever ( auto ) and move it while turning ignition key starter will engage. This does not work all the time though. I'm thinkin park/start switch when it gets too cold the contacts in switch aren't contactin ( what r u smellin diesel fumes again ) or i might have bad ignition switch in steer column. GO FIGURE!!! It only does this when it gets real cold overnight. It's mon. morn 2/27 and it got down to 20 deg. overnight and starter wouldn't engage when it was time to go to work. I can wait until it warms up to 50 deg. or so and it will start. cookoo So what do you think is going on any/all suggestions will be considered. Also, i put new t-stat in over weekend and seems to have more heat now.
