OK, so I was replacing my stop light switch the other day and see this switch on my brake pedel that looks like a.... vacuum switch?? What is it, whats it do, do I need it, and whats it really supposed to look like? Mine is just setting there, if it werent for the vacuum hose itd fall out, im assuming there is supposed to be a nut on it, or its supposed to screw in? :dunno

Ok, Betty!!! :backoff

Could it be a cruise control switch to disengauge cruise when you apply the brakes? Mine doesn't have it, but it also doesn't have cruise.

Yes.... Thats the vacuum breaker for the cruise control. It sits in the closed position against that plastic clip and can be shoved into the threaded part easliy.

I think that's it. I believe 1993 or 4 was the first year for the electronic cruise. I didn't think that existed, but I ran into some of this body style with vacuum cruise at the junkyard a while ago.
