Actually displacement is only slightly larger 2.1L vs 2.3L. Where it shines is the twin vortices technology which greatly improves effeciency. The old M122 had a maximum speed of 14,000 rpm where as this TVS has a maximum of 19,000 rpm. Right now with my drive ratio I would have to rev the engine to 4000 rpm to obtain 11,000 blower rpm. The snake bite overdrive gears would roughly increase that rpm to 16,000. Here is a small picture of the older 5th generation Eaton rotors vs the TVS rotors.
