Yup. I think an oops is probably in order.

Knucklehead wasn't even permitted for 4-lane, and was 3 feet too high for the bridge.

The Seminole highway bridge (on the Beltline) in Madison WI got nailed by a high/wide load excavator not once... but at least 3 times in the past 2 years.

It just had another accident last month that has now put the bridge out of commission permenantly for now..... some idiot on a lowboy carrying the worlds largest coal dragline bucket slammed the bridge and took out half the concrete beams beneath.

Wow if that excavator ripped that far into that bridge, I don't think I would feel comfortable driving on that bridge ever again. For all intensive purposes that should have ripped that machine clear of the lowbed or snapped the boom off but damn I would have never thought it would have gouged into the concrete that bad.

Dualie, that seems to be the big arguement, now. Whether the bridge can be repaired, or not. Either way, Hall Street is going to be closed for a long time.

well.... from the new pics and the looks of things... the bottom deck is nearly severed.... they'll demolish and rebuild on the basis that it looks like one of those form-in-place bridges. I dont see much for section lines.. much less expansion joints.

The worst damage was to the seat material of the driver of the truck and the cars right behind him :)

I don't know, I'd think the guys driving on the bridge probably shat a little more than the driver.

Is that the proper past tense for that word?
